Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 1, 2026
The short version
TuckedIn is a bedtime story service for families. We collect the minimum information needed to deliver stories to your child at bedtime and to manage your subscription. We do not sell data. We do not show ads. We do not track children's behavior for marketing. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing us at support@tuckedinapp.com.
Who we are
TuckedIn (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a bedtime story service for families. Our service includes this website and the TuckedIn mobile application. For any questions about this policy or your data, contact support@tuckedinapp.com.
TuckedIn is operated by Barton Ridge Capital LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.
Information we collect
From parents or guardians (account creation)
- Email address
- Password (stored as a one-way hash; we never see your password)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers)
About the child (provided by the parent)
- First name
- Age group (e.g., 3–5, 6–8) — not exact date of birth
- Bedtime preference
- Chosen character/storyline
- Device timezone (so the nightly bedtime reminder fires at the right hour)
All child information is entered by the parent during account setup. The child never interacts with any input fields in the app, and we do not collect information directly from the child.
Automatically (during normal app use)
- Listening progress (which episode your child has reached)
- Basic app diagnostics (crashes, errors) — used only to fix bugs, never for marketing
With your permission
- Location (optional):If you enable the “sunrise” sleep timer, the app uses your device's approximate location to calculate local sunrise time. Location data is used on-device only and is not sent to our servers. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
What we do not collect
- Exact date of birth of the child (age range only)
- Last name of the child
- Photos, videos, or voice recordings (at launch)
- Health or medical information
- Contacts, calendar, or any other data from your device
- Behavioral advertising profiles
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
TuckedIn is directed at children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's Kids Category requirements. Parents and legal guardians have specific rights under COPPA, and the following practices are designed to protect those rights.
Parental consent
The parent or legal guardian creates the account. During signup, the parent provides their email, payment information (if subscribing to a paid tier), and enters information about the child. This combination — an identified adult account holder, payment authentication for paid tiers, and active consent via account creation — constitutes verifiable parental consent as defined under COPPA.
What we do not do
- We do not show advertising to children (or to anyone) in the app. Ever.
- We do not engage in behavioral advertising or profiling of children.
- We do not share children's information with third parties for marketing.
- We do not allow children to communicate with other users. The app has no chat, comments, social features, or user-generated content.
- We do not link children to external websites inside the app. Parent-facing links (e.g., subscription management) open in a browser outside the child-facing experience.
- We do not collect more information about children than is necessary to deliver the service.
Parental rights
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Review the personal information we have collected about your child
- Request deletion of your child's personal information
- Refuse further collection or use of your child's personal information
- Edit your child's profile (name, age group, bedtime, storyline) at any time in the app's Settings
To exercise any of these rights, email support@tuckedinapp.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days. Account deletion removes all associated child data from our systems and from our third-party processors.
Internal use and service providers
We may disclose children's information only to the third-party service providers we use to operate TuckedIn (see “How we share information” below). Those providers are contractually required to use the information only to provide services to us and may not use it for their own purposes or disclose it further.
How we use information
- Deliver the nightly bedtime story to your child's device
- Remind you 30 minutes before your chosen bedtime
- Manage your subscription and process payments
- Fix bugs and keep the service running
- Respond to your support requests
- Send you account-related emails (receipts, password resets). You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
We do not use personal information to train AI models, target advertising, build behavioral profiles, or any purpose not listed above.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate TuckedIn. These providers are contractually restricted from using the information for any purpose other than supporting our service.
- Payment processing (Stripe) — receives parent email and payment information only. Never receives child information.
- Cloud hosting and database — stores account and child profile information on our behalf.
- Push notification delivery (Apple and Google, when enabled) — receives a device token only, never account content.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information. We do not share information with data brokers or advertising networks. We do not share child information with any third party for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order) or to protect the safety of users. In any such case, we will attempt to notify affected parents unless prohibited by law.
Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and your child's personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax records). Aggregated, non-identifying data (e.g., total episodes generated) may be retained indefinitely.
Data security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted password storage (one-way hashing), restricted database access, and regular security review. No online service is 100% secure, but we take the protection of family data seriously.
California residents — your rights
California residents have additional privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These include:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, where it came from, why we collect it, and with whom we share it.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected about you or your child.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not process sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to deliver the service. We do not use personal information for any purpose disclosed beyond what is described in this policy.
For children under 13, the CCPA prohibits the sale or sharing of personal information without verifiable parental consent. We do not sell or share children's personal information at all, regardless of consent status.
To exercise any California privacy right, email support@tuckedinapp.com with your request. We will verify your identity (typically by confirming you are signed in to the account in question) and respond within 45 days.
Apple App Privacy disclosures
Apple requires every app on the App Store to declare what data it collects, in a structured “App Privacy” label visible on the app’s App Store listing. The label TuckedIn declares is consistent with this Privacy Policy:
- Contact Info — Email Address (linked to user, used for app functionality, not used to track)
- User Content — Other (the child profile: first name, age group, bedtime — linked to user, used for app functionality, not used to track)
- Identifiers — User ID (the account identifier in our database, linked to user, used for app functionality)
- Purchases — Purchase History (linked to user, used for app functionality)
We do not declare — and do not collect — Location, Health, Sensitive Info, Financial Info (Stripe processes payments; we do not store card numbers), Browsing or Search History, third-party advertising data, or any data used for tracking purposes.
International users
TuckedIn is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and stored on our servers and service provider infrastructure, which may be located in the U.S. By using TuckedIn, you consent to this transfer. We apply the same protections to all users regardless of location.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way — for example, if we add new data collection, new third-party providers, or new categories of use — we will notify account holders by email before the change takes effect, and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Non-material changes (clarifications, minor wording) may be made without notice.
